I, Mr. Fazululla Shariff, aged 33 years had under gone Mitral Valve Replacement during the year 2002 and on Metallic Prosthesis. Since then I am using Acitrom regularly. Whenever, I got illness I used to take treatment at Yashoda Hospitals. Where I have underwent MVR Surgery. After the MVR surgery my health is in good condition till now. Suddenly on 14/05/2009. I have got high fever i.e., 104 degrees F to 106 degree, which I was in office duty. Next day, I went to Yashoda Hospitals and taken treatment for fever as an out patient, but the high grade fever has not come down and on 24/05/2009, I was admitted in Yashoda Hospital with complaints of High grade fever, continuous associated with chills, vomitings, and loose motions. And also had complaints of cough and severe joint pains.

On admission at Yashoda Hospitals on 24/05/2009 provisionally diagnosed as a case of acute gastroenteritis with moderate dehydration with pyrexia and treated with IV fluids, IV antibiotics, PPI, antiematics, analgesics and other supportive medications. On investigations it was revealed Neutrophilic leukocytosis in CBP, raised ESR, raised renal parameters, albumin and pus cells were present in CUE, deranged liver enzymes. Nephrologists opinion was taken for renal parameters who diagnosed sepsis induced ARF and treated accordingly. Pulmonologist’s opinion was taken, who diagnosed syn pneumonic and pleural effusion. ICD placement was done. ATT, diuretics and LMWH were also added to the treatment regimen. On 14/06/2009, I was shifted to ICU with increased shortness of breath, and falling saturations and kept on oxygen support. 2D Echo was done, which was suggestive of post operative MVR stable ring well opening leaf lit, normal gradient across MV and fair LV systolic function.

Even though, I was continuously monitored by Pulmonologist, Nephrologists and Intensivist continued to have leukocytosis and pleural effusion. Antibiotics were upgraded time and again as per need, in view of pneumonia with sepsis, septic shock and ARF. I was initiated and put on ventilator support and inotropic support on 15/06/2009.

  3. Since no improvement in my health and condition become serious. My parents have consulted other doctors in Hyderabad city, but no doctor agreed to treat me on seeing the reports of my health condition i.e., pneumonia with sepsis and septic shock. On the advise of one of the best friends my parents have consulted Dr. Ajit Vigg, Head of the Department, Chest Disease, Apollo Health City, Hyderabad at his private clinic, who interim agreed for giving treatment and advised to shift me from Yashoda Hospitals to Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. On my request Dr. Ajit Vigg has made arrangement of Ambulance along with team of doctors and technician(since I was under ventilator support) and I was shifted on 23/06/09 from Yashoda Hospitals, Secunderabad to Apollo Health City, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.

On my admission at Apollo Health City, investigations were done and the principle diagnosis is as follows:

    1) Chronic Rheumatic Heart disease with S/P MVP – March 2002.
    2) Sepsis with septic shock - resolved.
    3) Thrombocytopenia related to sepsis – resolved.
    4) Acute Renal Failure – resolved.
    5) Acute Respiratory failure necessitating Mechanical ventilator support – 10 weeks (resolved).
    6) Malena – due to upper GI bleed (resolved).
    7) RLZ pneumonia due to ___ resistant pseudomonas species (resolved).
    8) Panserositis.
    9) Anemia due to chronic disease.
    10) Dyselectrolemia (resolved).
    11) Nosocomial Klebsiella infection and Trophic ulcers due to Pseudomonas.

At Apollo Health City, I was under the treatment of Chest Physician, Nephrologists, Cardiologist and some other doctors from 23/06/2009. Out of these doctors Dr. Ajit Vigg, Chest Physician has taken utmost care and treated me well, even though others discouraged on my serious health condition. Multiple antibiotics/antifungal was given to treat septic shock and on 29/06/2009 tracheostomy was done. I was under the ventilator support from 15/06/2009 to 30/07/2009. And during my stay in Hospital so many up and downs occurred in my health condition and due to the best treatment given by Dr. Ajit Vigg I was survived and discharged on 29/08/2009 and living with my family members, really it is a miracle happened in my life.

God is great, but for me Dr. Ajit Vigg is great. But Dr. Ajit Vigg himself told that I have given treatment only and God only saved my life, which reveals the greatness of Dr. Ajit Vigg.
